Why the fifth sense

Why the fifth sense

There are four senses you can measure. Then there is the fifth. The one you can't measure.

What you see, what you hear, what you touch, what you taste. The one that makes you remember a place, a brand, a moment, without quite knowing why.

That's the one we work with.

“Before I learned to write for others, I learned to read the world.”

There's the sport you practice, and the one that shapes you. As a high-level competitive kitesurfer, I grew up obsessed with one thing: the perfection of movement. In elite sport there's no room for approximation. You repeat, you fail, you start again, until the movement becomes exact. That discipline never left me.

There's the photography you learn in school, and the kind you learn in the field. I learned to shoot while travelling with production crews across the world: tribes in Africa, fishing villages in Brazil, camps in Greece. I understood one thing: it's not the image that matters. It's the instant it captures.

Step by step, that eye became a tool for brands. Restaurants, hotels, luxury houses, private events. Saint-Tropez, where I grew up and started young in the nightlife and hospitality world, then St Barth, Courchevel and Dubai.

I don't narrate brands. I capture what makes them unique, and I teach others to see it too.

“Before I learned to tell stories, I learned to run toward them.”

There's the distance you measure, and the one you feel. Running came first: early mornings, long climbs, the moment when the body wants to stop and the mind decides to keep going. It taught me to embrace discomfort, to look for new perspectives, and to notice what most people pass by without seeing.

The camera came along the way. On mountain trails, then in places I never imagined I'd stand, I started shooting what running had trained me to see: the light that only lasts a minute, the texture of a path, the silence just before a view opens up.

From high-altitude ridges to luxury destinations, my work has always followed the same idea. A place isn't only what it looks like. It's what it feels like to be there. Photography and film are how I make people feel it before they arrive.

On a shoot, I bring the same discipline as on a long run: preparation, patience, endurance when the day stretches, and the reflex to stay discreet, so that people and places stay themselves in front of the lens.

Today, every project is driven by the same mindset I bring to every run: curiosity, discipline, and the pursuit of something meaningful.
